  • Yay for first entry! I had a xanga a long time ago, I got it not long after I was saved actually. I shut it down and decided to start a new one (though it's taken a while to write something). It's nice to make a fresh start.

I'm currently sitting in the library working on a presentation for tomorrow. It's for baroque art, about the different translations of "Et In Arcadia Ego" and the essay written by Erwin Panofsky about it, for anyone who's interested. While it will be an easy thing to present about since the arguments are sound and much of it is about my own opinion, I find myself wishing to be in Olivia's position, who gets to argue against abortion in her own speech tomorrow. There are so many times I find myself aching for chance to stand up in a crowd and argue for something I believe in passionately, or against something I detest. I'm currently fiddling with opportunity to take the Women's Studies class here at Potsdam next semester. The only thing holding me back is why I want to take it. Sometimes I feel like it would be a great opportunity to talk about the true roles of men and women and the way God made us, yet other times I worry that my heart isn't in the right place because I really would be pushing alot of buttons and be taking the class for the opposite reason of everyone else in it. I wonder if wanting to take the class just to shake people up and cause a stir is a good idea. But I just want people to know the truth, because I'm tired of standing up for myself against other women and seeing more and more men become passive and lose their true sense masculinity.

I'll have to make sometime in the future to discuss the problems I find in feminism, especially here on Potsdam's campus, but that would take far too long right now. I should get back to work on my presentation. (I have also dicovered the wonder that is Pandora and am enjoying Chirstmas music at the moment  ). I just needed a break a figured it was about time I made a start, simple as it is, on my xanga site. So, that 's all for now, folks
